Creative Strategist
Job Description:
Creative Strategist
Company Overview
We are a performance-driven marketing agency based in Montreal, helping ambitious brands and business grow through paid advertising, content, creative strategy, and digital acquisition. We work across multiple industries, from e-commerce and service-based businesses to coaching, real estate, retail, and other competitive markets.
We operate across multiple client accounts and niches simultaneously with one core standard: performance. Our environment is fast-moving, demanding, and highly focused on execution, ownership, curiosity, and direct communication.
For us, creative is one of the biggest growth levers in modern paid advertising. We don't see creative as simply making ads look good. It means understanding the customer, the offer, the market, and the psychology behind why someone takes action then translating those insights into strong hooks, concepts, angles, scripts, and creatives that can be tested, optimized, and scaled.
We're building a team of people who think beyond their individual tasks, take ownership of results, move quickly, communicate clearly, and constantly look for ways to make the work perform better.
Mission
We're looking for a highly strategic and performance-driven Creative Strategist to lead creative direction across multiple client accounts. This role goes far beyond writing ad copy or brainstorming concepts — it requires someone who deeply understands consumer psychology, direct response marketing, market sophistication, and awareness-driven messaging.
You'll own the full creative strategy loop: researching markets, identifying unique opportunities and emotional triggers, developing angles and narratives, building detailed creative briefs and storyboards, analyzing performance data, and continuously evolving campaigns based on what converts.
This is a role for someone who can enter unfamiliar niches, rapidly understand the audience, identify the one belief driving conversion, and engineer creative systems that scale across different industries and markets.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Market Intelligence
- Research new niches from scratch including demographics, psychographics, audience desires, objections, and behavioral triggers
- Map awareness and market sophistication levels across accounts and adapt messaging accordingly
- Identify core campaign beliefs, mechanisms, emotional drivers, and desired outcomes before creative production begins
- Analyze competitor positioning and identify overlooked opportunities, emotional triggers, and differentiated angles
- Study winning Meta ads, adjacent markets, and direct response trends to apply insights across client accounts
- Continuously monitor shifts in audience behavior, creative trends, and platform performance dynamics
Creative Development
- Develop complete creative strategies including hooks, narratives, offers, emotional positioning, and conversion angles
- Write high-converting hooks and ad concepts tailored to different audience awareness stages
- Create detailed video storyboards covering pacing, visual direction, overlays, CTA structure, and narrative flow
Write scripts across multiple formats including UGC, VSLs, direct response ads, founder-led content, testimonials, and mashups
Build production-ready briefs for creators, editors, and designers with complete strategic clarity
Provide structured creative feedback grounded in performance data and strategic intent rather than subjective opinion
Ensure all creative execution aligns with campaign objectives and audience sophistication levels
Performance & Optimization
Analyze creative performance metrics including hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPA, ROAS, and thumbstop rate
Diagnose creative breakdowns and identify whether issues stem from hooks, messaging, offers, avatars, pacing, or awareness mismatch
Build and execute structured testing frameworks including hook variations, headline testing, overlays, avatar diversification, and iteration cycles
Maintain testing roadmaps and document learnings, hypotheses, and performance insights across accounts
Optimize and extend the lifespan of winning creatives through systematic iteration strategies
Collaborate closely with media buyers to align creative strategy with campaign targeting and scaling initiatives
Client Leadership & Collaboration
Own the creative relationship across assigned client accounts
Lead strategy discussions and present creative direction clearly and confidently
