Job Description:

Junior Media Buyer

🌏 Remote | ⏰️ 9 AM - 5 PM PST | 💰 1,800

Company Overview

It is a specialized digital marketing agency serving 35+ ophthalmology and vision correction practices across the country. The company focuses on running high-performance paid media campaigns across Meta and Google, supported by a fast-moving internal team of media buyers, CRM specialists, content producers, and developers. The culture is execution-driven, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on accountability, communication, and operational excellence in client delivery.

Mission

We are looking for a Junior Media Buyer to join our digital marketing team. You will be responsible for building, optimizing, and reporting on high-performance paid media campaigns across Meta and TikTok Ads Managers. You will work closely with our Performance Manager and cross-functional teams to drive client results, leverage AI tools for creative and data tasks, and maintain strict accuracy and delivery across assigned accounts. If you thrive under routine, pay immense attention to detail, and want to learn performance marketing properly in a fast-growing agency, you'll feel right at home.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will vary, giving you room to learn, grow, and strengthen your skills while supporting the team with excellence.

1. Campaign Build & Launch

  • Build campaigns, ad sets, and ads in Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager based on briefs from the Performance Manager.
  • Translate briefs accurately: objective, buying type, budget, bid strategy, audiences, placements, schedule, and creative pairing.
  • Apply naming conventions and UTM parameters consistently so reporting stays clean and traceable.
  • Run a pre-launch QA check on every build—tracking, links, landing pages, budgets, geo and language targeting, creative and copy versions—before anything goes live.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain creative assets and ad libraries.

2. Ongoing Optimization & Account Management

  • Monitor campaigns daily against target KPIs and pacing.
  • Execute optimization actions within the Performance Manager's guidelines: budget shifts, scaling and pull-backs, pausing underperformers, audience and placement adjustments, and launching creative iterations.
  • Track spend pacing across all assigned accounts and flag under- or over-delivery early.
  • Monitor account health: ad rejections, policy flags, learning-phase issues, delivery drops, and pixel or event tracking failures escalate quickly and with context.
  • Maintain a change log so every action taken in an account is documented and explainable.

3. Reporting & Performance Analysis

  • Produce campaign reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly cadence.
  • Leverage AI tools and reporting platforms to accelerate data pulling, structuring, and first-pass commentary.
  • Verify every AI-generated output against platform data. Accuracy is your responsibility, not the tool's.
  • Interpret the numbers rather than simply reporting them: identify what changed, what is working, and where you need direction.

4. Creative & Copy Support

  • Use AI tools to draft compelling captions, headlines, and primary text derived from video asset scripts and creative briefs.
  • Adapt copy to platform conventions and character limits (Meta vs. TikTok) and produce multiple variants for testing.
  • Ensure all copy adheres to brand tone of voice, client guidelines, and platform advertising policies including claim restrictions in regulated categories.
  • Submit drafts for approval and apply feedback quickly and accurately.

5. Communication, Ownership & Accountability

  • Provide clear, proactive updates: what launched, what changed, what is at risk.
  • Raise issues early, with supporting data, instead of waiting to be asked.
  • Own your accounts and deliverables end to end: deadlines, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Coordinate with creative, design, and account teams to keep assets and approvals moving.
  • Ask questions when a brief is unclear. Assumptions are expensive.

Qualifications

  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Years of Experience: 0–2 years in paid social, performance marketing, or a related digital role (internships, freelance work, and self-managed accounts count)
  • CRM Tool: Not required (exposure to CRM and lead-tracking tools is a bonus)
  • Softwares: Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Meta Business Manager, Excel / Google Sheets, AI tools for reporting and copywriting
  • Industry Knowledge Required: Performance marketing, paid social execution, and digital media buying (experience in regulated verticals like healthcare and aesthetics is a bonus)
  • Specific Gender: No preference

Skills & Competencies

  • Working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager, including account structure and the campaign → ad set → ad hierarchy.
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Manager: ad accounts, pages, pixels, asset assignment, and permissions.
  • Understanding of conversion tracking fundamentals: Meta Pixel and Conversions API, TikTok Pixel and Events API, standard vs. custom events, and UTM tagging.
  • Solid grasp of core metrics: impressions, reach, frequency, CPM, CPC, CTR (outbound vs. all), hook rate, hold rate, conversion rate, CPL, CPA, ROAS, and lead quality vs. lead volume.
  • Competence in Excel or Google Sheets: filtering, pivot tables, and basic formulas.
  • Practical experience using AI tools for reporting and copywriting, with a clear understanding of their limitations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail—a wrong budget or a broken URL is not a minor error.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple accounts and deadlines without dropping tasks.
  • Coachable, curious, and eager to learn media buying properly.
  • Transparent about mistakes, fixing them quickly without repeating them.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable and consistent under routine—executing disciplined repetition with quality.

Technical Requirements

  • Own PC or laptop
  • Reliable internet connection (wired connection recommended)
  • Noise-cancelling headset and a quiet, professional workspace
  • Practical experience with digital dev/marketing tooling (version control, pixels, event APIs, reporting dashboards, or tracking tools)

Position Description

  • Working Hours: 8 hours, 9 AM - 5 PM PST
  • Working Days: 5 days a week
  • Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
  • Work Location: Fully-remote, you can work from anywhere
  • PTO (Paid Time Off): You may request time off anytime with advanced notice
  • Salary Range: $1,800 USD
