Job Description:

Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Deputy Lead)

Company Overview

It is a US-based health-tech company building a unified, multi-tenant SaaS platform for clinics, telehealth, and pharmacy commerce. The platform brings onboarding, ordering, prescriptions, pricing, payments, and fulfillment into one system, featuring white-label storefronts that let partner clinics sell under their own brand. Built to a strict HIPAA standard, the current technical stack consists of Node.js/Express, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS, with a React Native mobile app on the upcoming roadmap. The engineering department operates as a small, senior, AI-augmented team utilizing modern AI tooling heavily, hiring specifically for high judgment, deep ownership, and the strategic ability to direct and review AI-generated code.

Mission

We're building a multi-tenant healthcare platform that serves hundreds of independent business customers, each with a branded environment, its own catalog and pricing, and strict isolation from the others. Underneath this sits real commerce infrastructure: negotiated per-customer pricing, volume discount rules, payment processing, order routing across multiple fulfillment partners, and shipment tracking that flows back into the system. This role is centered on the data layer, with ownership of the schema, the pricing engine, and the integrations that move orders between systems. It also includes migrating a large legacy dataset onto the new platform. The ideal candidate values correctness over novelty, understanding that a rounding error here isn't abstract — it's a real invoice sent to a real customer.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will vary, giving you room to learn, grow, and strengthen your skills while supporting the team with excellence.

  • Data modeling for a multi-tenant system: schema design, migrations, indexing, and query performance as the dataset grows
  • Tenant isolation enforced at the database layer using row-level security, designed to fail closed rather than rely on application code getting it right
  • The pricing engine — per-customer negotiated prices, volume discount tiers, order-level discounts, fees, and commission splits, all resolving to the same number every time
  • Legacy data migration — moving hundreds of customer accounts, thousands of historical orders, and their negotiated pricing from an older system without losing or corrupting anything
  • Third-party integrations — payments, fulfillment providers, shipping carriers, CRM sync — built behind adapters so vendors can be swapped without rewriting the platform
  • Background job processing — tracking polls, retries, watchdogs, scheduled work that must never double-fire
  • Reporting and analytics surfaces for internal operations and for customers
  • Full-stack delivery — you’ll build the interfaces on top of this data too, not just the layer underneath

Qualifications

  • Years of Experience: 5+ years building production software, with substantial ownership of the data layer
  • CRM Tool: Not required.
  • Softwares: Node.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS ecosystems, CI/CD pipeline tools, and modern AI-augmented engineering tools.
  • Industry Knowledge Required: Experience in healthcare, fintech, or another high-consequence domain and familiarity with HIPAA, PCI, or similar compliance requirements
  • Specific Gender: No preference.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep PostgreSQL expertise: schema design, complex queries, indexing, query plans, live-data migrations
  • Strong TypeScript & Node.js (NestJS or equivalent structured backend framework)
  • Multi-tenant system design and enforcement, ideally via row-level security
  • Commerce/pricing logic: negotiated pricing, discount tiers, fees, ledgers, reconciliation
  • Real-world data migration experience with verified correctness
  • Third-party API integration: retries, idempotency, webhooks, rate limits, partial failure handling
  • Solid React skills for full-stack delivery
  • Modern ORM & migration tooling (Prisma preferred; TypeORM, Drizzle, or similar
  • Background job processing (BullMQ, Sidekiq, Celery) and distributed locking
  • Monorepo tooling (Nx, Turborepo) and CI/CD pipeline
  • Cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS): managed Postgres, containerization, secrets management
  • Native or fluent English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate directly with executive leadership.
  • Familiarity with React Native or mobile development frameworks is a major plus.

Technical Requirements

  • Own PC or laptop.
  • Reliable internet connection (wired connection recommended).
  • Noise-cancelling headset and a quiet, professional workspace.
  • Ability to work the required Beirut Time schedule to maintain a strong overlap for meetings and collaborative US working hours.

Position Description

  • Working Hours: Task-based framework requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, with mandatory availability for meetings between 5 PM and 1 AM Beirut Time.
  • Working Days: 5 days a week.
  • Days Off: Saturday and Sunday.
  • Work Location: Fully-remote, Lebanon-based.
  • PTO (Paid Time Off): You may request time off anytime with advanced notice.
  • Salary Range: $5,000 + Bonus
