Medical Assistant

⏰ 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM Beirut Time (with flexibility as workload expands)

đź’° $1,100 USD

Company Overview

It is a growing U.S.-based healthcare practice dedicated to delivering accessible, patient-centered care operations. The organization operates a structured, systems-driven clinical environment that values reliability, clear patient communication, and meticulous follow-through. The culture focuses on high-quality patient coordination, strict adherence to U.S. healthcare standards, and strong collaborative support for clinicians.

Mission

We’re looking for a reliable, organized, and professional Remote Medical Assistant to support the day-to-day operations and patient coordination for our U.S. healthcare practice. In this role, you will serve as a core administrative and operational engine—managing phone communications, patient scheduling, referral tracking, medication refill routing, and laboratory requisitions. If you are comfortable working independently, navigating electronic health record (EHR) systems, following established clinical workflows, and delivering warm, professional patient support over the phone, you’ll feel right at home.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will vary, giving you room to manage administrative workflows, keep clinical tasks organized, and support practice expansion with excellence.

  • Conduct outgoing and incoming patient phone calls regarding appointments, follow-ups, referrals, and laboratory orders
  • Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient visits while managing incoming messages and calls
  • Receive, review, and process incoming and outgoing patient referrals according to established clinic SOPs
  • Handle medication refill requests by routing them to appropriate clinicians and following up with pharmacies and patients
  • Prepare, submit, and send laboratory requisitions based on clinician orders and track outstanding lab reports
  • Obtain, organize, and archive incoming laboratory results, medical records, and external referral documentation
  • Communicate administrative and clinical follow-up instructions provided by clinicians directly to patients
  • Document all patient interactions and completed tasks accurately within the clinic's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and practice management system
  • Maintain structured task lists, ensure timely follow-through on open items, and protect patient confidentiality under strict HIPAA guidelines
  • Escalate clinical questions, medication concerns, or abnormal test results to licensed clinicians immediately
  • Adapt flexibly to growing administrative workload and extra operational hours as patient volume increases

Qualifications

  • Years of Experience: Prior experience as a medical assistant, healthcare coordinator, medical receptionist, or similar role is preferred (experience with U.S. healthcare practices strongly preferred)
  • CRM / EHR Tools: Comfortable using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, scheduling platforms, and online healthcare management tools
  • Softwares: EHR software, phone/VOIP systems, secure messaging tools, and standard office software
  • Industry Knowledge Required: U.S. healthcare workflows, primary care administrative operations, medical terminology, and HIPAA privacy compliance
  • Language Skills: Strong spoken and written English communication skills with a clear, professional telephone manner
  • Specific Gender: No preference

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to handle patient calls professionally and empathetically
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills with sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while staying seamlessly connected with the clinical team
  • Clear understanding of medical boundaries—ensuring clinical decisions, diagnoses, and medication approvals remain strictly with licensed clinicians
  • Problem-solving orientation with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a growing medical practice environment
  • Adaptability and willingness to handle an expanding workload and extra coverage hours as patient volume grows

Technical Requirements

  • Own PC or laptop
  • Reliable, high-speed internet connection
  • Quiet, private, professional workspace with a quality headset and working microphone suitable for handling confidential patient calls

Position Description

  • Working Hours: 8-hour shift starting initially at 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM Beirut Time, with flexibility to shift to take on extra hours as workload increases
  • Working Days: 5 days a week
  • Days Off: Saturday and Sunday (aligned with U.S. clinic operations)
  • Work Location: Fully-remote, you can work from anywhere
  • PTO (Paid Time Off): Standard company paid time off policies apply
  • Salary Range: $1,100 USD
